Westhampton Beach: Where My Story Begins

When people talk about the Hamptons, names like Southampton and East Hampton tend to take the spotlight. But let me take you west—90 miles from New York City—to a place that quietly holds its own: Westhampton Beach.

This town is where I chose to pour the foundation of Thompson Ferrier, quite literally. Our candle warehouse is tucked away in Westhampton Beach, where each vessel is hand-poured with care, precision, and the same attention to detail that this town seems to instill in everything around it. There’s a rhythm here that inspires craftsmanship. It’s calm, considered, and never in a rush to impress—because it doesn’t need to be.

We all have our go-tos—and these are mine.

Raffi's Favorites

A few places I keep going back to, no matter how many new spots open up.

Fauna is the kind of place that makes you slow down and savor every bite. Start with the pork belly appetizer—oh my god, it’s great. In the winter, I always order the duck. They only serve it during the colder months, and trust me, it’s worth waiting for. I usually pair it with a gin martini, straight up with olives. Clean, crisp, and exactly how I like it.

Dockers Waterside delivers one of the best dining experiences in town. With its waterfront setting, elevated seafood dishes, and golden sunsets, it’s where you go when you want to feel like you’re truly in the Hamptons. They even have live music on select evenings—check their Instagram for the latest updates.

White’s Apothecary is more than a shop—it’s part of our story. You’ll find our candles and reed diffusers here, along with a curated selection of beauty and wellness essentials. It's one of the few places where you can experience our fragrances in person outside of our warehouse.

And when I need to clear my head, I bike down Dune Road at sunrise/sunset. With the ocean on one side and the bay on the other, it’s the kind of peaceful ride that reminds you why you came out here in the first place.

Ease into your weekend like a local

Morning Markets & Spiritual Spaces

Saturday mornings in town start at the Westhampton Farmers Market (9 AM–1 PM). From fresh peaches to pickles, it’s the kind of place where the energy feels slow, yet full of life. Nearby, you’ll find some of the most beautiful places to pause and reflect—like the Immaculate Conception Church with its timeless design, or The Hampton Synagogue, which brings community, culture, and music together in the most graceful way.

Whether you’re refreshing your wardrobe or picking up a last-minute hostess gift, Main Street delivers.

Shopping Along Main Street

Westhampton’s Main Street is the kind of place where you always find something unexpected. Fashion-forward stops like Mint, Mixology, Fahrenheit 451 and Impulse for Men are go-tos for both seasonal staples and last-minute styling. For gifts and luxury finds, White’s Apothecary, Island Surf, Tola and Hampton & Dune always feel curated and elevated. From surfwear to home accents, everything here feels like it belongs—just like you will.

From laid-back tacos to fine dining under the stars

A Bite of Westhampton

You don’t need to drive far to find something good here. Whether you’re craving coastal elegance at The Patio, small plates at Daphne’s or Ivy On Main, or brick oven pizza at Brunetti, the restaurant scene in Westhampton is a beautiful blend of casual and refined.

From laid-back tacos to fine dining under the stars

More Casual Bites

I also love grabbing something quick from Dockers on the Rocks, their casual food truck, or hitting Local Provisions for a healthy bite. If you’re in the mood for something low-key, Funchos, Crispy Taco, and Margarita Grille never miss.

warm summer nights

Sweet Nights & Ice Cream Walks

There’s something about a warm summer night that makes ice cream taste even better. Whether you’re scooping from Shock Ice Cream, grabbing a cone from Ben & Jerry’s, or treating yourself to the gelato at Beach Bakery, make sure you take your time. Wander down Main Street, window shop, and let the evening stretch out. These little moments are what Westhampton nights are made of.

The beach isn’t just a destination—it’s a lifestyle here.

Sand, Sea & Social Clubs

Dune Road is where everything comes to life: stunning beachfront homes, long bike rides, and stretches of shoreline that feel untouched. Spend a day at Pike’s Beach, catch the surf at Jetty 4, or find your spot at Cupsogue, where the views are endless. If you're after a more exclusive experience, there are multiple beach clubs such as La Ronde and Dune Deck Beach Club that offer elevated beach days with all the comfort. And for something relaxed and fun, John Scott’s Surf Shack keeps the energy just right.

Celebrate with fireworks in The Hamptons

Fourth of July Like a Local

One of my favorite nights of the year: Fourth of July in Westhampton. The Westhampton Country Club puts on an incredible fireworks show, and the best part? You can catch it from anywhere in town—or even from your boat, anchored just offshore. There’s something magical about watching fireworks light up the sky over the Hamptons. It’s a celebration of summer, of this community, and of everything that makes this place unforgettable.

Start your day with the kind of coffee that sets the tone.

Morning Rituals & Afternoon Pick-Me-Ups

Some of my favorite moments in Westhampton Beach begin with a strong cup of coffee and something warm from the pastry case.

Caffeine is a small, beautifully designed café with great espresso and fresh pastries. Whether you're easing into your day or sneaking in a mid-afternoon break, it’s a calm, stylish space to unwind.

Hampton Coffee Company is a local staple for good reason—strong brews, buttery baked goods, and a relaxed atmosphere make it the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to.

And One Trick Pony pulls double duty: coffee and small bites by day, cocktails by night. It’s a great place to catch up with a friend or fly solo with a book and a latte.

When the sun goes down, the energy shifts—and so do the drinks

Cocktails, Conversations & Late Nights

One Trick Pony transforms after dark into a cozy cocktail bar with a creative menu and great vibes. On Thursday nights, join the locals for Trivia Night—a casual, fun way to wrap up the day with a drink in hand.

Sunset Theater, newly restored and beautifully updated, now includes a full bar. Grab a cocktail and enjoy a movie—it’s a modern twist on a classic Hamptons night out.

If you’re looking to stay out late, Daphne’s After Dark brings DJs and dancing to Main Street every Saturday night at 9 PM. It’s upbeat, stylish, and always a good time.

And for a more laid-back scene with unbeatable views, head to Dockers on the Rocks. Sip cocktails with your toes practically in the sand and take in some of the most beautiful sunsets in Westhampton. It’s casual, scenic, and the perfect way to end a beach day.

From flat whites to gin martinis, Westhampton Beach has a pour for every part of your day.
